At Bwiam General Hospital, we remain committed to delivering high-quality healthcare while continuously improving our infrastructure to support patient care, staff wellbeing, and operational efficiency. As part of our ongoing development efforts, we are excited to share updates on both new construction and essential renovations taking place across our facility.
New Construction Projects Underway:
Doctor Accommodation: Construction is in progress to provide on-site housing that ensures our post-graduate trainees remain well-supported, with each floor fitted with a dining room, kitchen, balcony, and laundry. 12 total rooms are being constructed across 3 floors, easily accessible through the lift.
1-Bedroom Apartment Units (2 Nos.): Two self-contained studios are being built to accommodate our senior staff.
New Kitchen and Laundry Rooms: A modern kitchen and adjacent laundry area are being developed to enhance meal preparation and supply management.
Generator Building: This facility will streamline technical operations and ensure stable power supply throughout the hospital.
Dental Unit: New dental chairs and equipment are being installed to expand oral health services and improve patient care.
Central Building & Operating Theatre (OT): Renovations are enhancing surgical capabilities and central operations.
Physiotherapy Unit: The space is being modernized to better serve rehabilitation and physical therapy patients.Maternity Ward: Refurbishment aims to expand and improve care for expectant mothers and newborns.
Provisional Ramp Construction: Accessibility upgrades are being introduced to ensure safer, barrier-free movement for all patients.
Renovations to Come:
Administration Block: Refurbishment is underway to create a more functional and welcoming space for staff and visitors alike.
Maintenance & Office Space: A dedicated office block is also under construction to centralize support services and improve coordination.
Outpatient Department (OPD) & Laboratory: These critical service areas are being upgraded to improve workflow, patient comfort, and diagnostic efficiency.
Ward Blocks (4 Nos.): All four inpatient wards are being renovated to improve hygiene, privacy, and recovery conditions.
Training Centre (Provisional): A dedicated space for ongoing staff development and clinical training is being set up.
Mortuary: Upgrades are being made to ensure this essential facility continues to serve families with dignity and care.
CEO Quarters: Renovations are underway to support executive staff residing on campus.
